1. About Those Gay Rumors…: The singer says she doesn’t care who is or isn’t gay, but when it comes to her own orientation, she’s on the straight and narrow.

“People keep saying I’m gay, and I’m not,” she tells E! News. “I’m pretty sure I’ve never made out with a girl. It’s just not helping me because I’m straight. No boy wants to hit on me because I make mean songs about them, and they think I’m gay.” There you have it fellas! Mack away.

2. She’s Going to Watch The X FactorNo rivalries here! Though Kelly still says she loves American Idol, and will be watching when the new season kicks off next year, she’s an equal opportunity reality show watcher, and tells us she not only checked out The Voice, but will be tuning into TheX-Factor to check out the chemistry of her own old judges Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul.

3. She’s Trained to Sell Vacuum Cleaners: Like many Hollywood stars, Kelly held a series of odd jobs before she hit it big on Idol. And while it’s not unusual to waitress or bartend before making it, Kelly’s got a longer list of employment that includes some truly wacky gigs.

MORE: X Factor already under fire from the PTC—here’s why!

Besides cocktail waitressing, she’s worked at Papa John’s Pizza, Starbucks, Subway and a comedy club. And she was trained to sell vacuum cleaners door to door. Not that she was ever in line to make employee of the month.

“I didn’t make it because we went to the first door, and the guy was like broop! I was so embarrassed about it I just walked to the nearest gas station.”

4. She Has Pigs: The “Breakaway” singer says she is a huge animal lover and admits to having a soft heart when it comes to taking in rescues—of any kind. And yes, that includes pigs. “We have horses and dogs and goats and pigs and a bunch of, you know, donkeys. We have everything, but we rescue them because there’s so many animals that get left behind, nowhere to go. I’ve had animals that are blind, deaf.” And no less lovable!

5. She Wants to Collaborate With Adele: When asked who a dream duet would be, Kelly said she’d love to work with the “Rolling in the Deep” singer. “I love Adele, that would be a great collaboration, I really want to do it, I will put it out there for you,” she says. “I just don’t care if it’s just an awards show backstage.”

Tons of new Kelly songs been recently leaking. We don’t know if any will be up on the new album. All I know some of them are 2005-2007 demos that never made the album. I wonder how all these songs are leaked in the first place.

Sudbury, ON – EZ Rock and the Human League are proud to present Kelly Clarkson at the Sudbury Arena on
Saturday, August 6 , at 8pm. The concert wraps up the week-long Playing for Change event, which features the
NHL Legends golf tournament, the Brian Trottier Hockey school experience, and a live performance by Kelly
Clarkson, American Idol’s first winner and reigning queen.

The event will support the Human League’s breakfast program – currently feeding over 3000 children at 25 local
schools, and the PLAY program, which allows financially challenged families to enroll their children in popular
organized sports, such as hockey and/or soccer.

Rod LaRocque, President and CEO of the organization discusses the philosophy behind the Playing for Change
event. “For 18 years, the Human League has been supporting local children through their programs and
initiatives. Playing for Change is our answer to the increasing need for sustainable funding – we need to ensure
the continuity of these important programs. Asking for donations is difficult and not always successful –
entertaining people and inviting them to participate in this type of event allows everyone to support this children’s
charity and have a great time doing it.”

Global superstar and multiple Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide
since her debut in 2002. Clarkson’s last album, All I Ever Wanted debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and
was called “…sassy, confident and full of power-ballad energy” by Entertainment Weekly while USA Today raved,
“…everything about this project screams hit album”. The album’s first hit single “My Life Would Suck Without
You” shattered the Billboard Hot 100 record at the time when it jumped from #97 to #1 in its first week of
release. “Already Gone,” the third single off the album held the # 1 position on the Hot AC Chart for 8 weeks.
Clarkson’s follow-up album will be released in 2011.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, May 13
at 10 a.m. at the Sudbury arena box office. Tickets can also be purchased
online at www.greatersudbury.ca

I HEARD THE NEWS ABOUT AMY WINEHOUSE. I’M INCREDIBLY SAD. I DIDN’T KNOW HER BUT I MET HER A FEW TIMES AND GOT TO HEAR HER SING BEFORE SHE BLEW UP. SHE WAS A BEAUTIFUL AND TALENTED GIRL. I’M ANGRY. WHAT A WASTE OF A GIFTED PERSON. WHAT A SHAME SHE SAW NO HOPE AND CONTINUED LIVING HER LIFE IN THAT MANOR. I HAVE BEEN THAT LOW EMOTIONALLY AND MENTALLY AND THAT IS OVERWHELMING. I KEEP ASKING MYSELF WHY SOME OF US ARE SPARED AND THE OTHERS ARE MADE EXAMPLES. I’M VERY ANGRY AND SAD. I DON’T KNOW WHY IT’S BOTHERING ME SO MUCH. SOMETIMES I THINK THIS JOB WILL BE THE DEATH OF US ALL, OR AT LEAST THE EMOTIONAL DEATH OF US ALL. MAYBE THAT IS WHY AS A LITTLE KID IN SUNDAY SCHOOL I LEARNED THAT GOD DIDN’T WANT FALSE GODS OR IDOLS. I THOUGHT IT WAS TERRIBLY SELFISH OF GOD AS A CHILD BUT I THINK I GET IT NOW. HE DIDN’T WANT US FOLLOWING PEOPLE OR THINGS THAT ARE IMPERFECT AND NOT SO MUCH FOR THE FOLLOWERS BUT FOR THE GODS AND/OR IDOLS WHO WILL NEVER BE WHAT EVERYONE WISHES OR NEEDS THEM TO BE BECAUSE WE ARE MADE IMPERFECT. HE KNEW WE WOULDN’T BE ABLE TO HANDLE THE PRESSURE, THE SHAME, THE GLORY, OR THE POWER THE SPOTLIGHT BRINGS. I AM DISTRAUGHT. I AM ALSO EXTREMELY GRATEFUL AND THANKFUL FOR THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE ME AND SUPPORT ME. WITHOUT SUCH AMAZING FRIENDS AND FAMILY WHO KNOWS WHERE I’D BE. MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH HER FRIENDS AND FAMILY. I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. I PRAY FOR PEACE IN YOUR HEARTS.

With all the hubbub going on over the recent American Idol finale, there was one thing sitting there in the back of my mind: What does original Idol, Kelly Clarkson, have to say about all of this?

Fortunately, on the very night of the big faceoff between Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina, I hit Clarkson’s private Tupperware show in NYC for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America (more on that below; or visit http://www.facebook.com/chainofconfidence to find out how Tupperware will donate $1 to the BAGCOAs for every 25,000 likes!) on May 25 to stalk her down and ask her opinion on it all. Here’s what the pop star (whose next album is due this fall) had to say.

Us: Why did you decide to do this great event?
KC: I think what Tupperware is doing with the Chain of Confidence is so important, creating a place where women can share confidence, show support and build each other up. I’ve learned how important confidence is, especially in this industry, and I am into anything that helps people just be themselves.

Us: Why is the Boys & Girls Clubs of America so important?
KC: The Boys & Girls Clubs of America is so necessary because they build places where children can have a safe haven and support center, which is so important for kids to have at a young age. That’s where confidence starts!

Us: What do you do to relax?
KC: I love spending time with my friends and family. And I just love to sing. I am also a reality show junkie-you name it, I watch it!

Us: Do you still watch Idol? Who should win?
KC: I do still watch Idol, more this season than any other! I totally love Lauren…I just love when you can see someone sing through their “person” and you can just feel it- she has so much beauty that comes through with her singing.

Us: Will you watch the X Factor?
KC: I will – I love all of those talent shows and think they are great for the whole industry, because they are all about the music and the voice-everything it should be about.

Us: What are your thoughts on having confidence while living in the limelight?
KC: It is so hard to find confidence in this industry when everyone is trying to tell you what they think you should be. I have learned to schedule a lot of “me” time so I can make sure I am always feeling my best. I have also been so lucky that God gave me amazing people in my life that help keep me grounded and be the best I can be.

Us: What’s your guilty pleasure?
KC: Reality TV- you name it, I watch it!

Us: Are girls from Texas tougher than girls from the other 49 states?
KC: I am so proud to be from Texas and I can say we definitely have tough girls. Traveling around the country I have noticed there are tough girls all over!

Us: When you get writer’s block how do you get over it?
KC: That is such a tough question! Sometimes it is better to just separate for a little while and hang out with family or friends until I can just be back in the writing zone.
