According to Entertainment Weekly, the ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’ singer performed an acoustic version of Tracy Chapman’s ‘Fast Car’ with Chris Daughtry.

Daughtry later wrote on his Twitter account: “Thanks again for an amazing time last night Nashville. And BIG thanks to @kelly_clarkson and Brad Arnold for coming out!!!”

Clarkson won the first season of the Fox competition while Daughtry finished in fourth place on the fifth season, which saw Taylor Hicks crowned the winner.

Clarkson performed alongside fellow American Idol winners and finalists at the season nine finale last week, which marked the final appearance of Simon Cowell on the judging panel.

The 27-year-old star, who shot to fame in 2002 after winning the first season of American Idol, began the UK leg of her All I Ever Wanted tour at Liverpool Arena last night.

Wearing a blue Rolling Stones T-shirt and jeans, Clarkson belted out a number of her hits to screaming fans. The Because Of You singer will be performing in London until 19 February, before heading off to tour the rest of Europe.

After Europe, she is due to tour South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia and Indonesia, before finishing in the Philippines.

The American Idol fave has never been one to reserve judgment, and that clearly extends to her band members, as evidenced by this newly unearthed video from a 2005 performance, during which she fired her guitar player, Dwayne Larring, after he apparently made a rude gesture to the audience. Which Clarkson clearly wasn’t having any of.

Check out how Clarkson cans him, mid-song, without missing a beat, and even incorporates the sacking into the lyrics.

And then Clarkson gets really mean, delivering a spiel about Larring to the audience before dedicating “Breakaway” to his newly unemployed behind. Wow. Donald Trump clearly has nothing on this chick.

Kelly Clarkson seems to have wrapped up her All I Ever Wanted Tour with one heck of a performance. A trove of new live Kelly recordings (including several new songs) is up, and now it’s pretty much impossible not to be thrilled about the potential of her recording a new album. She’s due to tour well into the new year, but for now, check out these first hints of her new direction — if nothing else, you have to respect anyone who writes a song for no other good reason than “I’m a nerd Twilight fan.” Plus her cover of U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.”

The recordings (courtesy Annechantal1’s YouTube page, via mjsbigblog) mainly appear to have come from a soundcheck or similarly intimate mini-gig several VIP pre-show performances during on the U.S. tour, which ended Dec. 13. First up, there are a few new songs, including “Far From Home,” which starts off like a flirtier version of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are.”
