Thanks to Idolator.com and Anne Chantals Youtube for these!!!!
Kelly Clarkson seems to have wrapped up her All I Ever Wanted Tour with one heck of a performance. A trove of new live Kelly recordings (including several new songs) is up, and now it’s pretty much impossible not to be thrilled about the potential of her recording a new album. She’s due to tour well into the new year, but for now, check out these first hints of her new direction — if nothing else, you have to respect anyone who writes a song for no other good reason than “I’m a nerd Twilight fan.” Plus her cover of U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.”
The recordings (courtesy Annechantal1’s YouTube page, via mjsbigblog) mainly appear to have come from a soundcheck or similarly intimate mini-gig several VIP pre-show performances during on the U.S. tour, which ended Dec. 13. Honestly, some of her takes are so good, we’re reconsidering our first list of Fave Kelly Clarkson Covers.
First up, there are a few new songs, including “Far From Home,” which starts off like a flirtier version of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are.”
As with Kelly’s “empty as i am,” it’s a live recording, so your mileage may vary, but we’re totally digging it. Clarkson gets to belt, we get to dance, and everyone’s happy.
Now check out how Kelly channeling Bono in her sweet and soulful acoustic take of “Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.”
“Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” (U2)
Kelly also tackles The Rolling Stones (watch out, Susan Boyle), Dixie Chicks, Sheryl Crow, Cranberries, Taylor Swift at the source… when are we getting a covers-only two-disc album from this girl already? Wonder if we should be holding out for a cover of OneRepublic’s “Apologize,” which would probably make Ryan Tedder happy? Hm, maybe not.

Merry Christmas!!
Hey everybody!
Just wanted to say hello and hope y’all are having a great Christmas (= So far my day has consisted of feeding and watering horses, slipping on my butt in A LOT of mud (thanks to all the pretty snow that came our way and then turned to crappy slush), playing with my dogs, opening some awesome presents from family and friends, and getting beat by my 7 year old nephew at the game Sorry ….very embarrassing, yet a reality. We just finished up my tour here in the U.S., in New Orleans (had an incredible end of tour party there, thank you New Orleans), and had an awesome tour run here in the states! I love my band and crew! They work so hard and are amazing people! I recorded a christmas song for my mom during the last show, for one of her presents this year, and it turned out alright so I’m gonna try and post it for y’all. I sang “I’ll be home for Christmas” and it’s not too bad so I thought y’all might want to have it since I don’t have a christmas cd or anything. Hopefully my internet works long enough out here in the sticks for me to be able to post it. I have come to the conclusion that I pissed off the internet gods and they hate me so we’ll see what happens (= Thanks for all the support this year! Without y’all I wouldn’t get to do what I love ….which would suck.
Sincerely,
(the girl who loves run-on sentences KC (= )

Like the millions of people who have made Robert Pattinson and Stephenie Meyer superstars, Kelly Clarkson is a big fan of the Twilight series. In fact, Clarkson classified herself as a “nerd Twilight fan” in a recent interview with MYX in which she confirms she and her backup singers penned a song about New Moon before the soundtrack to the film was finalized. “Empty As I Am,” written from the perspective of the series’ heroine Bella, didn’t end up on the film’s soundtrack, but but you can listen to a raw version of the track on Idolator. “It’s a sweet song, but it’s pretty sad,” Clarkson says, noting, “but it’s a sad book. [The books are] very relatable — everyone goes through those emotions.”
While the song might be closer thematically and lyrically to anything that actually wound up on the New Moon soundtrack, “Empty As I Am” sounds quite different from the tracks by Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, the Killers, Grizzly Bear and Death Cab for Cutie that ended up on the disc. “It’s a really sad book,” Clarkson says of New Moon and the inspiration behind the song. “It’s the one where she gets left behind, a Romeo and Juliet tragic kind of thing.”
Luckily for Clarkson, she’ll have two — and potentially three, if they slice Breaking Dawn into two films — more chances to appear on a Twilight Saga soundtrack. In case she needed any more inspiration, New Moon werewolf Taylor Lautner was recently on the cover of Rolling Stone:
